inveterately free
in my last post i was singing the praises of the lighting crew that did such a great job on my visit to salisbury plain. it was so difficult to leave the island and return to the ship, which is why when i eventually did i hurried up to the highest deck to continue watching the show. the mountains, clouds and animals were all bathed in a warm golden light which gradually receded as the ship slowly pulled away. i could have spent what was left of the day up there, but etiquette and hunger meant that i did eventually come back inside to have dinner. and then both of those obligations briefly deserted me again when i stepped away from my table to take another bird and sky photo.
