for the style that i'm blessing
i took the bus from karakol to here in tosor in kyrgyzstan, mainly because it was near a canyon i wanted to visit. the bus dropped my friend and i on the side of the road, assured us it was the correct place, and then sped away. there were no signs or clues of where to go, so we walked until we could hear noise and signs of life. this took us through a graveyard and up to a friendly family, who gave us fresh cherries and took us further towards the lake, eventually showing us the way to a yurt camp. with the exception of asalbai the poet who i introduced yesterday, none of the other locals could speak any english. but despite the language barrier, the village was still full of friendly faces.
