when i saw jason here i hadn't heard any of his solo work, so while i was hoping to hear some new stuff, i was also hoping for some old grandaddy classics. i wasn't disappointed as he played a good mixture of both. i had my compact camera with me, which has the disadvantage of inferior quality pictures compared with my slr, but the advantage of video. the decision i had to make was whether to take photos or shoot video. i did a bit of both, and my timing was bang on with the videos as i recorded three of my favourite grandaddy songs, from the selection he played. they were what can't be erased, jed's other poem, and the outro to he's simple, he's dumb, he's the pilot. having said that, i'd have been happy capturing any other of the old tracks, particularly an acoustic version of levitz which i never really cared much for when i heard the studio version, but stripped down it sounds amazing. anyways, there's a few song titles for you to spotify, or whatever the kids are doing these days.
