a weird and a wonderful start
a few days ago this little creature came into the world and i gained a new niece. the birth was both particularly early and particularly quick, so much so that there was no time for anyone to travel to or from the house. therefore it was just my sister and her husband (and their dog) at home right up until the point when their daughter made her entrance. no midwife, no pain relief, no complications - it's pretty much the most amazing thing that anyone i know has ever done.
