welcome party - extra image
i took this photo a few minutes after the blue eyed shag family portrait. on my way back to the boats from paulet island. the adélie penguins were swimming in the cold waters, presumably looking for food, and this group all popped out onto shore a few metres in front of me. after a quick scan they deduced that my camera and i were no threat, and went back to shaking the sea water off their backs. fortunately for me this all happened in front of a very cool looking iceberg, so i brought my camera down to their level to capture their pose.
