the day that we visited danco island there was still a smattering of light snowfall, but nowhere near as heavy as the day before. it felt like perfect antarctic conditions, as falling snow stood out from the blue water behind, which in turn contrasted with the orange beak of the gentoo penguins. this was yet another location where i took a ridiculous number of shots, and i would have stayed even longer if i didn't spy a weddell seal on a nearby iceberg which eventually tempted me off the beautiful island.
