carved out of snow
i’m not one for keeping count of the different countries i visit, that feels as though you’re just checking them off a list instead of actually travelling. with that said i did feel a certain buzz when i stepped onto portal point in antarctica which was my first time walking on the seventh continent. the snow was pretty deep to walk on, and it was difficult to see much as the polar winds blew the falling snow into my eyes, but all that felt like an entirely appropriate introduction to visiting antarctica.
