after i returned from georgia in the middle of february i managed to make it to the office twice before falling ill with a virus. since then i’ve only left the house to go to the doctors, the hospital and to pick up supplies from the pharmacy and supermarkets. it took me a while to fully recover, and by the time i did the whole nation followed many other countries into a lockdown due to a different, far more tenacious virus. there was one occasion in the last month and a half that i did manage to travel further afield. three weeks into my illness, when my symptoms were beginning subside, i thought i’d test how my fatigue would cope with my annual pilgrimage to holland park. even though it was before the lockdown it was still pretty empty, i think i saw as many peacocks as i did people. it's tough to know how things will progress in the coming weeks and months, but i'm hoping i'll be able to leave the house (as is currently permitted) at least once a day to at least see a bit of nature, albeit in a far smaller radius than i'm used to.
