gold and green and true
there are lots of different treks you can do in kazbegi, and when we arrived in stepantsminda we went to the tourist information to discuss the different options. i was cautious about doing anything with too much altitude or steep inclines having suffered in the mountains the week before. the compromise we arrived at was a 22km trek in truso valley, which sounds pretty long, but there wasn't that much elevation involved. there was also a pleasing lack of other tourists, which always makes a place feel more special.
