so i got an indian takeaway last night from a vegetarian place around the corner. i told him my order, he made some calculations and said it'd be £8.50. i gave him £10, he told me it may be 10-15 mins so i said i'd go the shop and come back. as i started walking away i realised that he didn't give me any change, i instinctively turned around and saw him smiling enthusiastically. ah... he thought that i'd given it as a tip... i can't go back now i'd look rude... meh, it's only £1.50, he'll just think i'm a generous customer. so i went to the shops to get a beer and returned 10 mins later feeling a little bit prouder than i was before. however as i took a seat the man approached and told me i had underpaid for the meal, the price was actually £10.15. i immediately realised how weird i must have looked when he told me that before and i walked straight out of the restaurant. still, it was a great curry, i must remember to tip them next time.
