glowing brighter with each year i am
on our final night together in france we all went out for a family meal. it was getting quite late and we decided to get some ice cream for dessert before heading home. almost immediately we realised that giving baby oliver some nighttime ice cream was akin to offering him a crack lolly. he started buzzing with energy which was in turns both adorable and exhausting. there was a picture of a cow stuck to the ice cream stand which ollie 'discovered' and had to share with everyone he knew. he would return to the table with an excited look in his eyes - silently screaming dude, you'll never guess what i just saw, quick come here and have a look. he would then grab a random relative's hand, drag them to the picture, and describe it with his baby sign language skills (essentially a hand on either side of his head to indicate horns). he would then return to the table, turn to another family member and repeat the whole routine with the exact same level of awe and wonder. i snapped this picture after we finally said goodbye to the ice cream stand - by this stage his sugar-high had transformed from being amazed at bovine to being entranced by the magical floor lights.
