on monday i said that my break in regular posting was due to a project at work that had taken up all my time, but was now almost finished. it turns out i didn't fully appreciate the meaning of the word 'almost' and i ended up working at the office til five in the morning on thursday. i contemplated staying there until everyone else arrived in the morning, but felt like i needed a little sleep if i hoped to finish things off on friday. so i locked up and walked home through the deserted icy streets (save for a few streetsweepers and urban foxes) got back home and to sleep at six, woke up to my alarm at eight and rolled back into work just after nine. safe to say i felt like a bit of a zombie yesterday. i had my ipod to keep me company at work, and decided to set it playing in song order, starting with the letter M. not only did this keep it random and play songs i wouldn't normally listen to, but it also threw up a few unintentional mixes that worked really well. for example, did you know that mogwai fear satan flows into jeff buckley's mojo pin perfectly? well at least that's my recollection at half five in the morning. all of this has bugger all to do with this photo, but i've nothing in particular to say about it so thought it was as good as any to post.
