rain can be both good and bad for a photographer. the reflections and changes to the surroundings offer a cool new perspective, but often you don't want to capture it for fear of getting your equipment wet. i was under a shelter when i saw this raindrop coated spider web so in theory i didn't have to worry about the latter and was relatively comfortable getting the shot that i wanted. however as i sat on the ground and turned the focus ring to try and capture the droplets as crisply as i could i suddenly felt decidedly uncomfortable. i looked down to my leg and saw the cause of this discomfort, a leech was working it's way around my ankle trying to find a suitable spot to start sucking my blood. it was my very first experience with a leech and i acted appropriately... i started to freak out. my mate reacted the way that i'd expect any good friend to, he took his camera out and started recording my distress. i'd be lying if i said that i felt any enjoyment at the time, but i came home with a cool photo and a funny video of me losing my cool.
