the base camp on route to roraima was the interchange where people going up spent their first night and people heading back spent their final night. this group thought the best way to unwind after five days of tough trekking was with a spot of yoga. by contrast, when we descended four days later, our group went for the beer, rum and wine option. i guess both roads lead to a state of relaxation - so in essence they're the same - although drunken yoga is probably a stretch too far
