last wednesday was the first time that thierry henry had been back to play against arsenal after spending 8 years/226 goals at the club. since leaving for barcelona he's frequently made comments expressing his love for the gunners, i'm not sure how that went down with the barca fans but it's endeared our fans to him even more. the stadium was fairly empty when he first stepped onto the pitch, when he was warming up before the game, and almost immediately he passed a ball to an arsenal shirt - which you don't usually do when you warm up with your own team. eboue was the first to come up and say hello, and i then sol campbell followed, who was also fairly new at the emirates after recently rejoining the club. i took this when they were having a bit of pre-match banter. henry made an appearance towards the end of the second half, and despite us trailing 2-1 i think every fan in the ground stood up, applauded and sang his name when he stepped onto the pitch. this stopped (and turned into a few semi-ironic boos) about ten seconds later when he picked up the ball close to our goal and we all realised he might actually hurt us. it all ended as well as it could with us getting a late equaliser and henry the last to leave the field after applauding all four corners of the ground. still a legend.
