wait for me
when we went to tiwanaku in bolivia we started off looking around the museum, then had a bite to eat before looking at the giant monolith dudes. while we were having lunch we kept hearing this faint sound of music rising and falling. it actually reminded me of the marching band bit of se lest by sigur ros - one of the most beautiful songs on takk... by the way. anyways, as we ventured out after our food we saw that there was a big street festival going on, complete with marching bands and dancers with everyone was dressed up in crazy and fabulous costumes. it was a tiny village, and it seemed as though everyone in the village was involved. i forget the occasion behind it, but i recall being told that everyone who lived there contributed a not insignificant sum to put it all together. and everyone was really enjoying themselves. it was a great, unplanned event to stumble upon, and i'll post some more colourful photos at a later date. i quite like this one though, particularly with the context that directly behind me were a bunch of similar looking guys, all marching, dancing and getting on down. this guy looked like he'd just come back from picking up the hat he'd forgotten.
