flowers in the window
travis were the headliners on the final day of cois fharraige. for me, travis are a brilliant example of good easy listening. they're never going to break any new ground in musical innovation. they're never going to have a song which you'll consider the best song you've ever heard. but what they can deliver is simple, nice, heartfelt songs, many of which are well known enough to get the whole crowd participating in a singalong. they don't need to bother experimenting with ideas, they have a formula that works for exactly what it's intended. in this context, closing a small music festival, it was spot on. this was taken after they had come back on stage for the encore and began to play flowers in the window.
