death cab for cutie
last week i saw death cab for cutie at the manchester apollo. i first got into them from hearing the the postal service who share the same lead singer. however, upon hearing the death cab albums i found them really boring. i expressed this to the friend who had introduced me to the postal service and he recommended starting with plans, at the time their latest and most accessible album, and working from there. i liked a couple of songs, which then grew to most of the album, which has now grown to most of their, fairly large, back catalogue. the tickets for this gig went on sale a few months ago, and i debated getting some before thinking i wasn't that big a fan so i might just leave it. well they haven't really been out of the stereo (or should i say computer/ipod) since so i ended up getting some tickets at the last minute. it's weird to really enjoy a gig from a band i thought was incredibly average less than a year ago.
