coniston water
just over three years ago, as a birthday present, i got my first ever camera. it was a nikon coolpix 4600. i had specifically asked for a small, cheap, robust camera that was easy to use and i wouldn't be too worried about taking around with me. well i did take it around with me, and took quite a few photos, so five months later i started this photoblog. around 11 months after starting the blog i ended up having a little accident with the coolpix so i replaced it with a canon powershot a620. i was particularly impressed with the canon as it allowed more manual controls of aperture and shutter speed, as well as being just a simple point and shoot. it seemed like a good bridge between the compact nikon coolpix and a proper slr. well, i've been on the bridge for a while now and thanks to my dad and my girlfriend i've now got a new toy, a proper slr, a nikon d60. i've had it a month now, and i'm still getting used to the differences, but it's a lot of fun and i feel a little bit more like a photographer now.
anyways, this is a shot of lake coniston in the lake district, and here's the original
